Beaver County

Beaver County fire units testing on 155.7225 PL 103.5. This frequency is not new, but the PL is and the signal hear is MUCH stronger.

From what I have heard Beaver county has upgraded things and there are more changes on the way.

PGHScanner.com Blog

Just when you think things are debugged....... I have fixed the links on the new Blog. The links should now work. I will work on the other little problems I see with it when I get a chance. It is now functioning, I just want to fix a few details.

Scanner Digest

Dan Rhue had been writing the Western Pennsylvania column is Scanner Digest for a while, and recently has stepped down. I would like to thank Dan for the good job for he had done on the column, and for his continuing contributions he makes to the hobby.

I was asked to write the column and I have accepted that job.

Scanner Digest is a news letter that  is available via email as a PDF file. This is published by Lou Compagna and the columns are written by local hobbyist. This provides good information for Pennsylvania up to Maine.

Scanner Digest web site is http://www.scannerdigest.com You can download older issues at the site and sign up to receive it as well

ARRL Diamond DXCC

The ARRL has a Diamind DXCC award to celebrate 75 years of the DXCC program, All contact have to be made during this year. The list is based on the DXCC list as it was 75 years agao.

I have received my certificate for this program, I currently have 109 entities on that list. I have worked more DXCC entities than that, but the list then is a lot different, and some current entities did not exist all or were part of a different entity.

PGHScanner.com Site Update

New pages have been added :

Amateur Radio Links
K3FS Station - QSL Policy - Log Search
QSl Cards Received

Changes made to the site :
Guest Book is now on the PGHScanner servers
Survey is now on the PGHScanner servbers
PGHScanner Forums moved to the PGHScanner servers
PGHScanner  Blog moved to PGHScanner servers

The moving of these things to PGHScanner servers makes the site more streamlined. Both the guest book and forums have been improved, and should be easier to use.

All of the old postings have been imported to the new blog. This will eventually be the only blog that will be updated.

The Events Calendar is now working again.

Eventually the QSL site will not be able to support the changes being made. At that point QSL site will be phased out. I would encourage all to update the links to http://www.pghscanner.com as all updates and changes will definitely be supported there.
