Berks County is reported to be switching all fire and EMS paging to 151.220. I did not hear any paging on that frequency. The police departments that I had logged on there have moved to 155.250 PL 91.5. 155.250 is a repeater and I was receiving interference from York County on that frequency.

Shack Updates

I was granted some room to put a shack together. I have already assembled all of the radios throughout the house into one good operating position. I also now have a computer dedicated to only my radio stuff. The computer still needs some work, but its progress.

I have also erected a Solarcon A-99 for 10 meters. So far, it appears that the antenna is working well, and in the new location, the radio is working well. I'm looking forward to working 10 meters more.

These are all frequencies that have been used before. No new hits with signal stalker.

One interesting note is that they were using the QB and defensive radios for one series of drills. It appears the NFL is sharing the frequency that is used by the teams QB helmet with the defense. They use two different DPL's for each side (offense and defense). Looking at my notes it looks as if they have changed the DPL's being used as well. Neither DPL being used was one that I have logged for that frequency. I was going to do a search for new licenses for the NFL, but it appears that is not necessary. It makes sense to do it the way the are.

Chris Parris, the writer of the Fed Files Column for Monitoring Times, was kind enough to pass along some frequencies for the Goodyear blimps. Chris was working on the blimp during the coverage of the All Star game.

Call sign is WPPH287. It was noted that there was not a VHF - High band radio on the blimp. They were not using the VHF-High frequencies that I have heard before for ground comms. I will list the VHF freqs licensed to Goodyear under this callsign, but there was no sign of them using these at this event.

All sites have had the old counters replaced. Motigo was causing a pop up screen to occur, so I have replaced all of those counters. There should not be any pop ups with the new counter system. Please let me know if this new counter does anything funky.
