It would make sense that someone like Rick would be against SOPA. There are a lot of problems with the bill, but I think Rick's actions are what the bill is trying to stop. Pirating domain names, and content.

Washington County Update

I received this update regarding Washington County.

Under Zone 2, Burgettstown police is now covered part time by Mcdonald police and their call sign is 1235

Midway Borough disbanded their police and Mcdonald now does full-time coverage for them, no special call sign for them, just using 12xx as the call sign

Under Zone 3 Bentleyville and Cokeburg Boroughs have part time police coverage by Southwest Regional Police and the call sign is 5835 for both municipalities

Union Township has also started part time coverage by Southwest Regional Police, and their call sign is 5837

Also on Zone 3 you have unit 17 listed as Stockdale, it is actually RESA, 17 covers 5 Municipalities, Roscoe, Elco, Stockdale, Allenport, and Dunlevy

Verizon no longer allows FTP to their site. The allow only the use of their Site Builder application to update or make pages. Due to this I am no longer able to update those pages. I am trying to get Verizon to take those pages down. Please update any old bookmarks.

Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority is no longer using the Pittsburgh TRS. They have gone to UHF. The only active talk group for parking is a garage. Pittsburgh TRS has been updated on the site. There will likely be more updates on this as continued analyisis of the TRS continues.

I am working on some minor changes in the nav-bar. I have updated the links in the Blog. The 396XT files have been uploaded to the site,

I just picked up a GRE- PSR200U today. I needed a cheap, easy to use scanner that had PL/DPL capabilities. This will be used to monitor the Allegheny County South Zone. I wish it had Alpha tags, but for under $90 I can't complain. This radio will mostly be used by my wife to listen to local happenings. She will usually turn on a radio to hear what is going on when she hears sirens. This is loaded with the local frequencies, and only the bank needed is active. I may upload a file for this radio to the file section.

Anyone interested in a Pro-58, let me know. This is a no frills 10 channel radio, that initially served the purpose. Due to narrow banding, I was now getting Penn Hills Police on with South Police. The radio served me well for 17 years. Free to anyone who is interested. Email me, and we can work out delivery options.

The Yaesu VX7R file is being updated, and will be uploaded once that is done.

I just applied for DXCC - Phone, LX7I was 100th phone QSL on LOTW.

Totals now are now, mixed 113, and phone 106.

It's not DXCC Honor Roll stuff, but not bad running 100 watts on Yaesu FT 857D, Antron 99 (without ground plane kit), and LDG tuner.

The Antron was supposed to be a temporary fix. I was not going to mess with the radial kit for antenna that was only going to be up for a year. I still plan on upgrading the HF antenna, and hopefully next summer it will get done.

15 meters is currently at 93, and will likely be next.

The best source for frequency data is from Frank, K3FS (there is a very
dishonest "person" who tries to emulate Frank but do not be confused by
that)

Frank, K3FS (accept no substitutes).

Steve, consider stopping in to meet some of the TRAMA group at the
King's at the Waterworks on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

PGHScanner site has been updated. Most pages contain new content. All pages have been updataed to the first phase of updating PGHScanner.com. Its not much of a layout difference, but all pages are now more standard, and have been cleaned up a bit.

Also added with this update was a new page - Richard E. Christian. Richard is the one who has registered the K3FS domains. He is not associated with me or my site. He has plagiarized the content, style, and data from my site.

Phase II will continue. This involves some data format changes. I am hoping I can get this done and add more flexibility to the data output.

Supervisors from both townships had voted to disband the departments effective today.

Looks like Duquesne University has gone Moto TBro or NXGen. 463.4875 has been active the last couple of weeks with digital format that is not P25 compatible. I can hear the input in my car on 5th Ave. Duquesne is licensed on this frequency. They filed a modification on 7/20/2010 and added emission 7K60FXE to 463.4875 and 461.800. 461.800 has been silent tonight.

Priority One

No traffic was heard again tonight on frequencies that were used by the old Mellon Arena.

I did hear traffic on all of the newly licensed frequencies for SMG. 461.3875, 461.6875, 463.2125, 463.4375. All frequencies were very active, and all are repeaters. I was able to hear the inputs on the Boulevard Of The Allies, and Liberty Bridge. All were digital, and not P25 compatible. Probably Motorola TBRo or Kenwood NXGen.

It looks like the new system at the Consol Energy is not able to be scanned.

North Versailles Police

North Versailles police 460.100 - PL 141.3 - Are now using #3100.

There has been a lot of changes to police unit numbers in the past month. This has occurred for both county dispatched and self dispatched agencies. They are all oving to the same standard identification system.

I am working on updates for the pages to reflect these changes. I was thinking some radio system changes would have occurred, and was waiting for them. I will update, what has change so far soon, and not wait any further.

Early indications look like they are using a new Motorola TBro system. I have mot been able to hear anything on the old Mellon Arena frequencies when I was nearby. They have new licenses, and the emission designator would confirm they are using a new system that may not be monitored.
